Missed photo opps

On the list today of "things that brightened my day" 

1. Saw a wild turkey on the highway, literally just watching the cars pass on my way to work today....couldn't snap a pic

2. Watched the next door neighbor kid pee on his nanny...couldn't snap a pic

3. Finished one of my grad school papers...picture not entertaining 

 

Although those all brightened my day, as you can see, I did not capture the moments quick enough, so instead, here is one from my run tonight:) 

Beautiful day

I love spending time with my family. This weekend I got to go to my dad's best friend's cabin. Had a blast and saw beauty literally EVERYWHERE I looked. Memories created at the cabin in Hackensack will stick with me forever

Perfect day

Perfect day in northern Minnesota. I want to see everything the world has to offer 

Saying goodbye

After saying goodbye to my best friend/sister/partner in crime in the morning as she moves to Colorado, I was down in the dumps missing her. So I decided to go for a night bike ride and saw a beautiful sunset. It reminded me that life is a beautiful adventure, and my sister is setting a wonderful example and taking every opportunity that is given to her! ...time for me to book a flight 

Movie day

After waking up completely exhausted and hardly being able to get myself out of bed, nannying sounded like quite the task. Yet, it turned out to be just the thing to make my day. 

Later in the day, we all decided that a Disney movie was an excellent decision. We chose to watch Hercules (solid choice) and Johnny (5 yrs) was not understanding the plot line early in the movie. So, after asking "why?" And "what is he doing?" upwards of 100 times, I finally said "Hercules is training to be a great hero some day, but for now he is just a normal boy, so keep watching." To this John replied ...." So he's like the same as Jesus." How can you not laugh at that? My reply..."sure, that's close enough"

Starting out

I've noticed recently that if I take time out of my day to look around and notice little things that brighten up the world, I automatically feel better-refreshed. Whether it be a beautiful sunset, a kid's smile, or a text from an old friend, living fully means taking everything in that you can and enjoying the life you have been given. So that's what this blog is...little things in each day that remind me what a gift each day really is! 

For today... 

On my run, I found this "free little library" and thought it was such a cool idea! take a book, leave a book. Not to mention, it looks adorable! I wonder if whoever made it knows that they made my day? Made me think....have I ever made someone's day? Have you?
